Gray wastes of soul by grayma1k Gray wastes of soul by grayma1k
Wastes of the soul, passion of a banished one. Fallen goddess, the one who can scorch the Moon and imprint her own image in its ruin, but unable to create.

There are no laws against experimenting on fallen gods. Luna had nothing against it either. But this eye will still be chasing me in my nightmares, I afraid, for I made it wrong.

That strange thing I caught in my eye seeing this drawing... Oh, it's nothing, it just made me cry a little.

Indeed. And also sad and empty and gray.

I really like it, very simple with a big impact. I like the damage to her helm, and her eye being more wide in possible realization rather than in the anger or twisted pleasure of her evil. It is a very nice work.

-Words inspired by this-
These eyes, only gaze on the barren wastes of my path.
This landscape of my fate, is this all I have now or what I will come back from?
In sweet bitter time, return shale I to complete my work...
And these tears shedding from a weak soul, will pool in the sea of those foals!

The picture was really a sublimation, a substitute for another image that knocked on my mind around that time. The one about the burning Moon - even rocks and vacuum may flame up in a fruitless rage of a fallen god. And the Moon burned, and the nights were red quite some time after the banishment, and the result - scorched silouette, silent reminder and silent menace - could be seen for a thousand years more.

That should be a bright, and colorful, and disturbing, uneasy picture - the one I did not want to make, really (and don't want to still - you should feel her rage and anger to properly depict it, and I don't want to). It just knocked on the mind, and I had to make just anything related to release myself from this obsession. And now I am free from Moon and NMM images for some time, and may calmly draw peaceful and quiet Luna pictures, as I like them much more.

Sounds like it would have been amazing though, but I m more of a darker side type. Luna I like to be happy or a bit mysterious into the gothic, but Nightmare Moon I love seeing in pure darkness. Nightmare moon was the first one I drew of the ponies, and hasn't stopped since. Ponies any ways.
